Inclusive Formation for Children with Special Needs
“As all the members of the human body, through they are many, form one body, so also do the faithful in Christ. A diversity of members and functions is engaged in the building up of Christ’s body, too.” Lumen Gentium (7)
“We are a single flock under the care of a single shepherd. There can be no separate Church for persons with disabilities.” Welcome and Justice for Persons with Disabilities: A Statement of the U.S. Catholic Bishops 1998 (1)
We offer religious education for children and young adults with developmental disabilities.
Children with development disabilities are catechized by a team of teachers lead by Miss Donna Iasello who have experience working with persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and physical disabilities. We are a committed community of Christ followers who wish to widen the door of inclusion for persons with disabilities so all may fully and actively participate in our liturgy and faith community.
We also prepare children to receive the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation.
We meet on Sunday mornings from September to April.
