An Altar Server's function is to assist the Priest presider in serving Mass and other liturgical functions. Students in Grades 4 through high school are welcomed to join. Servers are scheduled on a monthly basis by their availability and preference for Mass. Typically, an altar server will be assigned twice per month.
Several times per year, as needed, we will run a one-session training program for all parish girls and boys ages 10+ who are interested. The newly trained servers will begin serving soon after training is completed.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are lay people who, after having received special training and having been commissioned by the Archbishop, serve the parish by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. They are referred to as "extraordinary ministers" because the ordinary minister of the sacrament of Communion is the priest or deacon. They also bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound. EMoHCs are usually scheduled to serve at Mass once or twice per month, according to their preference and availability.
Lectors are specially trained laypeople who come forth from the assembly each week during Mass to not just read but proclaim God’s Word in the readings from the Sacred Scripture. Lectors should have a clear voice and be comfortable with public speaking. Generally, lectors are scheduled once per month at the Mass of their preference, based on their availability.
Our Ministers of Hospitality do much more than take up the collection. Theirs is the first face you see as they open the doors of the church to welcome you. As ministers of hospitality, they extend Christ´s welcome to the parishioners. They will help you find a seat. They make sure you leave with a bulletin and a smile.

St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church is proud to have an active, vibrant and growing music ministry.
Our adult choir sings at the 10:30 Mass each Sunday, September through June. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7 PM in the music room. Though it’s helpful to be able to read music and have a knowledge of your voice range, singers at all levels are welcome to join. It is required for choir members to commit to attending the weekly rehearsals and be present for Sunday Masses.
The Joyful Sound Choir is a wonderful opportunity for our young Catholic Christians to serve in a parish ministry. Children in grades 3-6 are invited to join. We rehearse on Mondays after school, and sing at the 10:30 Mass once per month, and sing for special occasions throughout the year.
Our cantors are trained, professional music ministers who lead the sung worship at Sunday Mass, weddings, funerals and baptisms. This ministry is open by audition only.
