Elaine is a transplant to New Jersey from North Massapequa, Long Island. After graduating from SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Elementary Education, Elaine focused her career in Human Resources for CS First Boston managing their training and development and compensation programs. She attended Columbia University for Organizational Development. She married Kevin Coupe and focused her time on her two children while in Scotch Plains.
Elaine joined St. Bartholomew in 2007, participated in the RCIA program with her family and was welcomed into the Catholic Church. Elaine believed she needed to help with our youth and jumped right in by teaching Confirmation classes. Elaine moved to become the Director of Youth Ministry working with high school students. She enjoyed Sunday meetings, service projects, mission trips and 7 years of ice breakers. When her children graduated she moved from youth ministry to Director of Community Outreach. In this position, she works as a conduit between the community and the parish working to provide services to the needy. Through her programs, she supports Veterans, homeless, dying, sick, special needs, elderly and more working with all ages of volunteers. She sits on Interfaith Ministerium and the Rotary Club.
