Whole Family Catechesis is a family-based Religious Education experience designed to bring every member of our families closer to Jesus in our everyday life.
This faith formation program is designed to meet the needs of our families who have children entering Grades 3-6. Their first and second-grade siblings are welcome to join them in the Whole Family as well. All families commit to attending five faith formation retreat classes and three church activities. Families also make a commitment to attend Mass weekly and complete a gospel-based curriculum at home.
When choosing your three church activities please refer to the church bulletin for upcoming events.
Due to the popularity of the Whole Family program, it has been split into two sections for 2019-2020. Families will be notified of the section they are placed in, either the "Alive in Christ" or the "United in the Holy Spirit" group. -

Eucharistic Holy Hour
Held in our church. If you choose this option, you should stay for at least 30 minutes in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ exposed in the Holy Eucharist. There will be booklets with readings and prayers for you to use in silence while you are here. The booklets should be returned when you leave, for others to use as well. If you have activities on Saturday, perhaps you can stop in before or after to spend a little time with Jesus. This is a good time to thank the Lord for the many gifts He has given to us. This option will be on the Honor System. There will not be a sign-in sheet. If you miss your time, simply email religious ed and tell us the activity you will do in its place.
Holy Hours will be held on the 4th Saturday most months. Please see below for the dates which have been set already.

Please note that we will have a Praise and Worship Holy Hour at most of the Eucharistic Adoration Holy Hours from 11 am - 12 pm. The Praise and Worship Holy Hours that we’ve done in the past have been a wonderful experience for families. If interested, I would encourage you to attend during the Praise and Worship Hour from 11 am - 12 pm with your family. I think that children would especially enjoy it!-
33 Days to Moring Glory – Saturdays: November 16th to December 21st 9-10:30am
All ages are welcome! We will individually read and reflect on one small excerpt each day at home from Fr. Michael Gaitley's 33 Days to Morning Glory book. We will gather each Saturday to share our faith.

- Feast of Saint Francis/Blessing of Animals in the Saint Nicholas Prayer Garden Saturday, October 5th at 2pm a service will be held at the baseball field behind St. Bart's. Bring your pet, or come to watch and pray for all of our pets.
- Christmas Concert Saturday, December 14th 7pm Featuring the Saint Bartholomew choirs accompanied by a host of musical instruments.
- Parish Lenten Mission With Father John Paladino and Father David Santos. Dates Begin at Mass on the weekend of March 21/22. Followed by the Mission Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings- March 23, 24 & 25th from 7:30 to 8:30pm.
- Stations of the Cross Fridays during Lent in the church. Stations of the Cross is an opportunity to walk through what Jesus, Mary, and his Disciples experienced on Good Friday. Each Friday the Stations will have leaders who will read the event that occurred and then the crowd reads a prayer. Some Fridays there may be music, one Friday the Confirmation Candidates will lead us in the readings. We meet in the church. Dates are as follows:

- Holy Thursday Mass April 9, 2020, From 7:30-8:45 pm in the church. This is a very powerful Mass experience. There are readings about Jesus; there is a washing of feet (usually 12 parishioners) and great music. At the end of Mass, the priest reposes the Eucharist. That means he processes along with all the ministers who were on the altar and the choir. They all walk through the church and then place the Eucharist in the Tabernacle. The door of the Tabernacle is left open so people can pray. But remember it is almost Good Friday. There is evening prayer much later after this Mass. (The Eucharist is removed from church after evening prayer.) The next time we celebrate Mass is at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday Night. During this Mass, we experience the meaning of the Last Supper, the celebration of Communion, the roots of the priesthood, and celebrate our risen Lord, Jesus Christ.
- Good Friday Outdoor Living Stations of the Cross April 10, 2020, presented by our High School Youth Group at 7:30 PM in the parking lot. We will walk outside as the sun sets with live actors from our High School Youth group. They will lead us in prayer and song and reenact the events of that day.
- Good Friday Walk with Jesus, April 10, 2020, for children from 10 - 11:15 am. We walk the four Stations of the Cross with live child actors. We witness the Last Supper and also take the bread and drink juice along with Jesus. We visit the Garden of Gethsemane, hear of the Crucifixion of Jesus and end with our last station, the Ressurection. The Walk with Jesus is celebrated with a song and explanation of why this day is called Good Friday.
We are looking for children actors to perform our Walk with Jesus. Rehearsal will take place on TBD, 2020 from 4 - 6 pm in our gym. Leslie Viviano and Connie Boruch, our Jesus Day Retreat Coordinators, will direct this program. It is never too early to email our office and sign up to help!

Simbag Gabi Celebration Wed. Dec. 18th 7:30pm
Will take place here at St. Bart’s Wednesday, December 18th at 7:30 pm. There will also be a wonderful reception with delicious food downstairs immediately following the mass. All are welcome! If you would like to attend, you may find it very interesting to see something new! Here is some background on the celebration: Simbang Gabi is a Filipino Christmas tradition that began long ago as a series of nine dawn Masses, which began as early as 4 am, beginning December 16 and concluding on December 24. The tradition began as a way to allow farmers to go to Mass before going to the fields early in the morning - hence it is also known as “Mass of the Rooster.” Today the tradition of this spiritual preparation for Christmas continues in our Filipino community with Mass taking place in the evening on December 18th. Each night of the novena the Masses take place in a different church, and each night the Mass is followed by the sharing of traditional delicacies with those in attendance. -
